BEHIND THE SCENE - The result is clear, Leonel will probably through his wife(when elected VP for the new government) keep running the country in the same old corrupt PLD style. Danilo will be the puppet of the show, fulfilling the same position as Medvedev did for Putin in Russia, and may God forbid, in 4 years Leonel could be back as President for the Dominican Republic!

Behaving like this PRD deserves to lose!! - A son of the former Police chief Pedro de Jesus Candelier shot and injured a nephew of the of Public Health minister Bautista Rojas, during an argument around 2am Friday at “Pícalo Burger" in Naco, Santo Domingo. This is the undisputed result of a country who do not spend money on education - PRD is a complete joke and Hipolito ran the country into sub zero last time he tried!!

Julio Cury is the attorney for Jose Angel Gomez, who runs elsiglo21.com. He says officers took documents, videos and computer equipment on Saturday. No one has been charged. General Prosecutor Radhames Jimenez said earlier this week that the emails of First Lady Margarita Cedeno and other government officials were hacked into recently. He did not say Gomez was tied to those incidents...... . According to DR news the First Lady has a private bank account in Denmark with over EUR 40 million, making her one of the richest First Ladies in the world!! And she spends over USD 2 million on transportation....!!!!

Special attention on vehicles that arrived from the Dominican Republic onboard the M/V “Caribbean Fantasy” , a CBP K-9 alerted of the potential presence of narcotics on board a Mazda B3000 pickup with Puerto Rico license plates. An x-ray of the vehicle confirmed the alert to CBP officers. After a thorough search of the vehicle, CBP officers found 10 packages of cocaine inside the vehicle’s bed-liner to approximately $144,000 in street value.....

A confidential report the International Monetary Fund (IMF) suggests Dominican authorities implement sweeping fiscal changes, including raising the Industrialized Goods and Services Transference Tax (ITBIS) from 16 to 18%, and eliminate the tax breaks to the various productive sectors, as an adjustment measure. Due to possible floods and mudslides the Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased to 19 the number of provinces under alert , 11 of which are on yellow alert and eight on green.
